What's the opinion on Evil arcana for Zenia?

I'm a bit wierd for liking Evil arcana, it looks like alot of fun to use them teleport tricks. Also seen some useful combos using it's double teleport super. Are the teleports fast enough to be usable as a distance closing tool or is it best kept to combos?

Generally speaking, the normal evil teleport isn't that great outside of 2[E]  combos (which Zenia doesn't really use), or getting around projectiles with long recovery and such.  The swap teleport can be alright in combos, however it has a much longer cooldown on your meter recovery than just a regular homing cancel, which means you shouldn't be using it often except for when you have no other options (i.e. 214X uncharged air unblockable).  But otherwise I reccomend using the normal homing cancel combos.  Swap teleport is much more useful at dealing with character specific stuff such as Cathy's Chibigawa summon.

However, ending air combos with j.E > 623E is a good way to maintain pressure.  The poison during EF combos is a good way to get extra damage and lock their meter gain.  And the 641236E grab is another good way to drain and deny your opponent meter.  Evil can also do Zenia's standard reset combos meaning in the second round if you have EF and a homing cancel you can probably do the reset combo into arcana blaze and on success it will kill them in 1 "combo".

Overall I don't really think poison does anything special for Zenia that it doesn't do for other characters, and since meter generation is on the low side you need to be conservative with your meter.  However it doesn't seem like it's really a bad pick either, pretty solid / standard.

Thank you for that interesting and informative reply, some food for thought in there. I'll have to try a couple of arcanas out when I get the game, caved in yesterday and ordered the asian version to get some early training in.  :toot:

I only played a little with tone and so far I found it to be more about setting traps and then using them to finish or add to combos you are doing during EF. Hopefully someone with more combo experience can tell you something more helpful.

i agree dark is a very solid (also oldschool, ah2) pick for her
only draw back being that while dark can still do reset combos, if they get hit instead of block they'll get blobbed instead of combo'd

So if they get blobbed 236C~214X, homing hold up j.6BC,land,B,j.B6B,dj.B6BC,DP 11k damage.

I think you might be able to do a C,214A~A,A,B instead of just B but not sure.

You can also just end with dj.BE,236E,wait homing forward.

Metal is actually decent on her because of how much meter she can build with that DBZ meter charge.  Flower and love are pretty good for new players with Zenia, it doesn't matter too much though.

yea lvl 3 is the max u can only lvl up twice and ur swords become golden and ur attack&defense stat is alot higher
if ur using Pad then yes I say try pulling off Zenia's XCH with analog
the moment u whirlwind u should have the motion inputted
if u have any more questions let me know =3

Hello again! I have yet another question! (How convenient for me how that last post ended! Thanks!) ^_^

I've been having trouble comboing Zenias (2)8 a into 623a/b/c. It just isn't happening, in fact I find her whole anti air Eiden almost impossible. This command should be really easy for me, I do it all the time with Bang (Critical Super Crash!). Is there a trick I'm missing?
