I've just started playing AH3 along with a few of my friends.  I have this one friend in particular who plays Wind Konoha and while I'll admit he's the best competition I have locally, his play style really irritates me rather I win or lose. You see he does not stay on the ground which is a problem for Zenia( I use Plant for the most part which i wouldnt think be a problem).  He jumps and homes constantly with 6C does a 2 hit combo if I block in which case he follows up with JC > 1HC into another 6C > Ninja Floats to bait out attack > 6C again into combo.  Now I've gotten a few good counter hits and I know this is not impossible to stop, but since Zenia's 2E and 623's are to slow to adequately punish, I normally get hit by this set up.   Does anybody have any good ideas for getting him to stay on the ground or any good air to air setups to help my cause?

Honestly sounds like you need to just learn how to play AH3 bro, if he is landing and doing a move that isn't like a jab and you know he is going to do it 4D,2C,EFC beat him up.  don't you dare do 623X series as a ground to air attack, stick with 236A~C, 2E, 5A and 5B. for air to ground stuff.  Air to air your j.A will win if your point blank, and j.B and j.6B have good hitboxes for stuffing stuff, and j.623X in the air has a crazy large hitbox that moves you backwards too.  If you block an air move you can always try block 6D,mash jab/throw, I'm not really sure though if Konoha command throw will beat this or something  :iiam:

Be careful not to just mash out vines when close up in a block string because he can HC them on block and punish you.

Nobody stays on the ground in AH3, the floor is secretly lava.

I see thanks.  I've watched a lot of videos since that post and I see what you mean.  Also, I was wondering if there were any other arcana's suited to amplify Zenia's long range game other than plant?

I play against these 2 all the time, against Scharl 236X~C series will duck under j.6C every day of the week, then EFC and combo, I just do 5B,j.6BEC,land6B5C2C blahblah, I'm sure there is something better but w/e this is easy and oki is fun.  I would be more worried about having a tool to stay in once your in especially if your up against wind sharl.

Nazuna's zoning isn't really a problem to get around until she busts out the zoo during which you just have to block it out.  2E+lighting works some wonders against this too if you don't feel like just blocking and want to mash mash out.  Also gives you a nice way to get in with lighting super.

edit: I'm actually kinda surprised lighting isn't one of her recommended arcana on the wiki but Fenrir is O_o, and I never really figured metal out, at least flower/dark make sense so does punishment with its lol 100% combo.  I have seen some silly stuff with Luck,Wind, and Water Zenia as well.
